Art of Asking

Boundary-Pushing Health Care Branding

Spectrum Health Care is a nonprofit organization that specializes in sexual health. The unfortunately stigmatized niche makes fundraising efforts difficult, and Spectrum Health Care had been hosting the same lackluster event for years — with little success.

The nonprofit wanted to throw a boundary-pushing party that would gain serious traction, and it needed a disruptive brand to get there.

Give ‘em something to talk about

To raise awareness about the event, we created a branded campaign that put STIs at the center of the conversation. The unapologetic ‘art of asking’ messaging and avant garde visuals inspired a complete overhaul of the fundraiser itself, which turned into an underwear-themed night at a high-end art gallery.

Highly contagious

The ‘art of asking’ campaign was such a success that Spectrum Health Care wanted to use the brand beyond its fundraising event. To give the organization some flexibility, we created an extensive color palette and strict guidelines that would allow for more ‘art of…’ brands. The brand family launched with ‘the art of the birds and the bees,’ a campaign to educate parents on talking to their kids in a sex-positive way.
