Tasting Counter

Creating a Recruitment Campaign for a High-End, Purpose-Driven Hospitality Brand

Tasting Counter is a fine dining restaurant in Boston, that's reimagining the hospitality experience.

In their kitchen, the front-of-house is not valued above the back-of-house workers— and there are no walls separating them at all. Instead, their open-concept kitchen unites the chefs and the service team.

The vision of Tasting Counter is strong, and its purpose is meaningful, but the current hiring landscape in the hospitality space is challenging to say the least.

From retention problems to coming out of the largest global pandemic in years to rising inflation costs, 2022 has brought tough times for restaurateurs.

Nonetheless, Tasting Counter has carried on and decided to enlist support to help them remain cutting edge in the fast-paced world of fine dining.

Collaboration

Our team came alongside Tasting Counter and their consultant Mark Morey, to launch a rebrand that included a robust recruitment campaign to help them attain top talent and attract new people to their restaurant.

Through an in-depth discovery meeting with the Tasting Counter team and listening to their needs and goals, the campaign idea, Hungry For Purpose, was born.

We built a custom microsite specifically for their hiring campaign, which gave them a place to communicate their values, mission, and vision while being transparent about how they work and hire. It also allowed us to carefully track conversions from promotional materials throughout the hiring site.

Measuring Success

Since the campaign's launch, we've helped Tasting Counter organically reach 16,510 accounts on Instagram alone and have supported a steady increase in followers.

And most notably, we reached Tasting Counter’s goals for the campaign of hiring 3 people within 4 months, and brought in a total of 25 applications.
