Casting Call Application

Hoot Design Company is working with The University of Missouri’s Center for Excellence to create professional training videos. Submission deadline is May 8, 2024.

We are seeking talented actors/narrators to be the face of a series of educational videos produced by the Center for Excellence at the University of Missouri. Auditions will be set up by appointment at Hoot Design Company in Columbia, MO or in a virtual setting on an as-needed basis. Auditions will consist of readings from the sample script.

All roles are paid positions, and rates will be discussed during the casting process. Please email: cindy@hootdesignco.com with any questions.

Important Notes:

  • The final script for the videos will be provided in advance of the recording date.

  • It is expected that the candidate feels comfortable and familiar with the script by the filming date.

  • Only selected candidates will be contacted for further consideration.

      “Many things in simple routines help create safe and secure connections between caregivers and children. Think about the bath-time routing: Hearing the water run, the soothing tones of their caregiver’s voice, words like, ‘bubble’ and ‘wet’. Feeling the warmth of the water and exploring bath toys, smelling the scent of the soap. All of these experiences with their caregiver helps them to feel safe and secure.”

“Piece to Camera” Actors/Narrators

  • Talent Requirements:

    • Strong and clear speaking voice.

    • Ability to convey complex information in an accessible and engaging manner via voice and tone.

    • Willingness to prepare prior to filming so the script is familiar, but not memorized.

    • Experience with narrating educational or informational content preferred.

    • Comfortable reading from a teleprompter.

    • Availability for recording sessions at specified dates and times.

    • Payment: This is a paid position. Payment details will be discussed with the selected candidate.
